How the game works is very simple, - Everyone pays a ONE TIME $20 entry fee. - Everyone also chooses a roster of twenty (20) celebrities that they feel will die between the dates of January 15, 2007 and December 7, 2007 (check out the Rules Page to find out which celebrities are eligible and which are not). You are then awarded points when someone on your roster dies between those two dates. The points system works like this, When someone on your roster dies you receive 10 points. Then, in addition to those 10 points, you receive 1 point for each year the celebrity was under 100 years old. Example: You have Tom Cruise on your roster and he dies at the age of 44. You would receive 66 points (10 points simply for him dying then an additional 56 points because he was 56 years under 100 years old). - Once the game is over everyone's points are added up. 1st Place receives 65% of all the entry fees collected (the winner is guaranteed at least $500!) 2nd Place gets 10% 3rd Place gets 5% I as the Game Master keep 20%. I'm in this to turn a profit after all! Example: Let's say that 56 players submit rosters. That means each pays a $20 entry fee (56 x $20 = $1,120). The winner would get $728 (65% of $1,120 = $728), 2nd place would receive $112 (10% of $1,120 = $112), and 3rd place would get $56 (5% of $1,120 = $56). - You can submit as many rosters as you would like, but each one will require a separate $20 entry fee. - When choosing the celebrities for your roster it is important that you use strategy. It is easy to fill your roster with celebrities that are all over 95 years old, but remember it is not the total number of deaths that win the game, it is the total number of points! Imagine if you could have chosen Kurt Cobain back in 1994. You would have received 83 points for his death (he died at the age of 27). Six 95 year old celebrities would have to die to earn more points than that!! A good roster should have a wise combination of older, middle aged, and younger celebrities. - If you want to join the game click onto the Join the Game Page for directions on how to submit your roster and pay your $20 entry fee. Remember, all rosters and entry fees must be submitted no later than 11:59pm EST on January 14, 2007. It would be a good idea to look over the Rules Page before you join. Also, you can find a few good web sites to help you research your rosters on the Links Page. - Feel free to submit your rosters as early as possible!
